Lebert Equalizers (EQs) are a great tool to REGRESS and progress your pushups!
Key Takeaways:
- Use your legs to "self-spot"
- Squeeze the EQ bars toward the center
The Wind Up
Place the EQ’s in the “V-shape” position. Place hands on the outside curve of the EQ’s, core tight and slowly lower until your elbows are at 90 degrees, pause and press back up
Levelling Up:
The regression for the EQ incline push-up (technically it’s a decline push-up but we naked it after the incline position of the body) is to lower slowly and then “self spot” by placing a leg forward to assist getting out of the bottom of the pushup. The regression for the single bar on the ground is to perform the pushups from the knees. I’d rather see you perform perfect form with the pushups on your knees before progressing too quickly and your form is shite. Remember to lower slowly, get weight forward and shoulders over top of your hands, go deep enough, pause and squeeze up! The progressions are many.
